Regina and Redell asked Andrew Roby Events to produce their Anderson House micro wedding earlier this month. The Anderson House is one of the most popular wedding venues we have used this year. After touring this historic museum, couples fall in love with all that it offers.
Regina and Redell contacted us in August asking for options for their DC Micro Wedding. We initially discussed having a group micro wedding concept. This allows up to four couples to have their wedding on the same day at different times. Ultimately, Regina decided on the idea of a Anderson House Micro Wedding. This allowed her and Redell to have exclusive time with friends and family and further ensure their 20 guests were taken care of. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, their guests count dropped from 20 guests to 10 guests. Thankfully, Regina and Redell used Chip Dizard Weddings who offered their extended guests a chance to view the ceremony via live stream.

DC Micro Wedding Restrictions
All of our couples understand the many issues with having a wedding during COVID-19. Regina and Redell where extremely understanding with the various changes to their wedding plans. Any couple seeking to have a wedding during COVID-19, should be aware of the following wedding changes that can take place:
- Change in guests count – decrease or increase
- Change in date
- Your primary wedding vendor not being available
- Limited venue availability
- Limited time while at venue

Anderson House Micro Wedding Ceremony
Anderson House makes it tough to pick just one space to get married in. The Winter Garden at the Holidays space was selected. Located adjacent to both the Ballroom and the Hoyt Garden on the first floor is a bright, intimate indoor space. It can be used either as part of a reception or for additional seating during a dinner. Original murals and gilt lattice work adorn the walls. French doors open to the Hoyt Garden and reflecting pool outside.
DC Floral Designer Designs by Oochay provided the beautiful flowers above.
DC Wedding Photos
Prior to the start of the ceremony, the couple enjoyed their first look in the Olmsted Gallery with Trene Forbes Photography. On the second floor of Anderson House, with large windows overlooking Massachusetts Avenue, the Olmsted Gallery is frequently used as a setting for cocktail receptions. Originally an elegant passage for the Andersons’ guests to stroll from the drawing rooms to the Dining Room, it still displays their larger works of art, including several sixteenth-century Flemish tapestries.
Following the wedding ceremony, Redell and Regina spent time taking photos in the Hoyt Garden. This walled outdoor garden at the back of Anderson House features pieces from the Andersons’ collection of classical and Asian sculpture. The lush lawn, reflecting pool, and two stone terraces make the garden a great choice for cocktail hour, and outdoor wedding or even reception space.

Regina and Redell Anderson House Micro Wedding Review
It was a true honor planning the Anderson House Micro Wedding For Redell and Regina. Following the ceremony service, our couple left us this glowing review on WeddingWire.
“I am still on a high from Sunday but didn’t want too much time to pass without reaching out to tell you THANK YOU! We had an amazing day Sunday-our intimate ceremony was perfect! Everything was beautiful, the venue, decor, the vibe-simply beautiful. We had so much fun within that hour. It felt as if we had a larger wedding- it didn’t feel like a micro wedding. Our virtual and in-person guest are still complementing how everything was beautiful, classy, and very well put together.
Thank you for creating an amazing vendor team and for a wonderful job and experience Sunday. All of your vendors provided excellent service and were very responsive and knowledgeable to any questions I had. They were professional, kind, and patient with us throughout the entire process. On the day of our ceremony it was a great joy working with Trene’ and her creative photography skills to capture our special moments. Chip’s exceptional videography services allowed us to stream our ceremony. KUDOS to you and your amazing team with Andrew Roby Events for providing great service on our special day. I will personally thank each vendor for an amazing job and experience.
Have a wonderful holiday and please continue to stay safe and be blessed.”
