MGM Grand National Harbor hosted the wedding of Quacey and Morgan and certainly didn’t hold back on creating their very own masterpiece.

I have the honor of meeting with Quacey and Morgan back in October 2018. We had a great initial phone call that allowed me to really get to know them. That connection took us on a journey that landed us at Maryland wedding venue MGM National Harbor.

DC Wedding Request

In just 11 months, we took their initial request, tweaked it to their personalities, and came up with their ideal wedding.

The request:

Create a wedding palette around the mauve color – bride

Include a computer geek element into the wedding design – groom

Ensure there are a few over-the-top elements – couple

Allow the space to feel comfortable and somewhat cozy – couple

Wedding Execution Plan

To create this Maryland wedding, we took everything asked of us and came up with intentional concepts.

We loved the mauve color. It’s rather soothing. To complement the color, we pulled in tones of gray and gold. We always encourage our clients to pick just one primary color and then allow for 2-3 complimentary colors. The more colors you add, the more difficult cohesiveness can be.

For the computer geek request from Quacey, we decided to use the dance floor wrap to display this. Initially we thought about putting items on the reception tables, but then we decided to go bigger. Quacey came up with the binary code that spelled out Quacey and Morgan Elias. GENIUS!

For the over-the-top elements, we decided to team up with Social Supply and create a backdrop for the sweetheart table. Since we wanted to make this for bride and groom, we used the mauve color palette and Quacey’s family heritage to come up with a modern African print. We also created two 24ft long VIP tables with a 20ft overhead floral installation.

Lastly, the need for a comfortable wedding was critical. Since the couple brought in multiple DJs and artists, we knew guests would be dancing for a long time. To remove them from having to go too far from the dance floor to rest, we placed sofas on opposite ends of the dance floor. It kept them near the action verses at reception tables.

Our overall goal was to create a luxury wedding experience not only for the couple, but for their guests. Check out the wedding review Quacey and Morgan left us.

As DC area Wedding Planners and Designers, our goal is to actively listen to our clients and infuse their personality into their wedding. No wedding is the same. What makes them different is the clients themselves.
