DC wedding and event venue The Perry Belmont House is by far my favorite new venue to host events. I was absolutely captivated when I went to do a site visit at the location. I honestly didn’t even know what this building was. Countless times you past DC venues and think, oh hey that’s another historic building and don’t think twice. The Perry Belmont House is one of those venues I have passed hundreds of times while in DuPont Circle.
I was first made aware of the gorgeous mansion by invitation on LinkedIn. Lawrence J. von Weigel, the Belmont’s Event Coordinator, invited me over to see the space. My jaw dropped as I walked into this fascinating DC wedding venue.
I might have to update my top five DC wedding and event venue list.
The home was built in 1909, for Congressman Perry Belmont out of New York. Washington, DC’s elite gathered here to include British Royalty. The home is massive with three stories including a private residence. The primary function of this home was to entertain and I can tell you first hand, it exceeds that.

Can you believe that Perry Belmont wanted to sell this spectacular Washington, DC event venue to turn into deluxe apartments? I am so glad that never happened. The Order of the Eastern Star purchased the home for $100,000. That’s $400,000 less than what it cost to build.
