Regardless of who you decide to vote for on November 8th, an election party is a great idea to watch what some have called a circus. An election party is one of those themed parties that doesn’t come around often. Here are a few tips to make your party much more memorable.

Election Party Decorations:

Any Election Party should come with the typical gang of colors. Red, white, and blue. Oh how patriotic and typical. But they work for this theme and are easy to find. American flags, donkeys, elephants, and political posters are your base. I love the idea of a DIY large cardboard picture frame decorated to read I VOTED. Nothing like a way to share on Instagram right?

Election Party Activities:

The election is a long process. Having activities during your election party keeps people active and engaged. Step up your Photo Booth game and incorporate a 360 video option we saw from Focus and Fabulous Events LLC. I would also split up your event space and pit party against party. In between the results being shown on the news, give your guests props like Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton masks and ask them to mimic the candidates.

Election Party Food:

The most important thing to factor in is that your election party will take place during dinner. That means you need to have real food to give your guests. Cakes, cookies, and alcohol will not do. If you are limited in budget, consider things that go a long way like a hearty Mexican Albondigas Soup, pizza, and beef sliders.

Here are a few considerations for your menu:

I’d add some sort of meat to this to make it filling.

CONCLUSION:

The main thing To keep in mind is that this is not a debate, it’s a party. Leave your ill feelings of the candidates at the door and come in to have fun with your friends. The last thing you want is the side who does not win, getting angry and wanting to get violent. SECURITY!!!!
