On October 14, 2018, more than 350 people enter the brand new International Spy Museum for a night filled with magic. A venue that is not yet open to the public served as the host for the DC Muna Love Affair designed and planed by us at Andrew Roby Events.
New first broke in May that we would be planning the Muna Love affair for Washington, DC couples. The program was built to give DC wedding couples an event like experience and not a typical wedding expo experience. To make that happen, we removed our DC Wedding Planner has and put on our DC Corporate Event Planner hats. In doing so, it allowed us to think outside the wedding box.
The event opened with a cocktail hour to allow guests to arrive and network on the Spy Museums rooftop. Sweeping views of the DC Wharf, Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol surrounded our guests. Main Event Caterers offered delicious international dishes ranging from spices green papaya salad to tangine and jolly rice fish cakes. DWP Live Factory entertained.
As cocktail hour concluded, we welcomed guests to enter the main event space lobby. Models Inc, provided escorts that wore custom made masks. As the doors opened to the main event space, Dissonance Dance Theatre performed the opening act which kicked off a series of events. Washington, DC DJ Kurtis Cross played a selection of top hits as guests moved along more than 7,000sf of event space.
From balloon displays by Lasting Impression Events to a 10 foot floral ring by Bella Fiori Events, guests experienced some of the most trending wedding ideas for this year. We decided to continue the trends by designing the event around Pantone’s Ultra Violet color of the year. We added grey, green, gold, and black as complimentary colors.
The next part of the event presented both The Bridal Room and Miguel Wilson Collection to a jam packed audience. Following the fashion show we continued the experience with bar service, after party dishes like chicken and waffles and tons of dancing. We are proud to have produced and designed the 2018 DC Muna Love Affair for Washington, DC.
