Black Owned Event Planning Company

DC Event and Wedding plannerWe are proud to be a black-owned event planning company serving our hometown of Washington, DC as well as Dallas and Los Angeles. The cities we live and work in are home to diverse populations. This is reflected in our diverse team, clients, and service partners, to include caterers, DJs, photographers, and more.

As black-owned event planners, we are dedicated to multi-cultural diversity that captures the essence of our clients and makes everyone attending their events feel valued and included. The events we plan are on time and flawlessly executed down to the tiniest detail, allowing you and your guests from all walks of life to relax and enjoy the day.

Diverse Vendor List

Often, when clients choose a venue, they will be asked to select vendors for their event from a “preferred vendor” list put together by the venue itself. Often the vendors on these lists have paid large sums of money to be listed as “preferred.” Sometimes the vendors are placed on these lists via other methods, but most of these lists do not include diverse and multi-cultural options. The preferred lists of vendors are often difficult for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) businesses to land on, for a variety of reasons. And without being on these lists, it can be hard for BIPOC businesses to reach clients and customers such as yourself.

This is why when you choose Andrew Roby Events to plan your event, you’ll see that our lists of vendors are often different from other venues and event planners. They bring you the best of the best by being inclusive of a variety of industry professionals with diverse backgrounds.

If diversity is important to you, you can be assured that our team is sensitive to this as part of a premier black-owned event planning company, and we believe that our commitment pays off in the quality of event. We can offer a full range of perspectives and services to our clients because of our alliances with all vendors—including minority-owned businesses. This commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is baked into our business philosophy and our party planning protocols.

No One-Size-Fits-All Planning

We recognize that your event should be as unique as you are—not a cookie cutter rendition of what’s trending. We’ll help you conceptualize an event that fits your dreams, tells your story, and emphasizes your attributes. From the photographer, DJ, wedding cake baker, floral designer… we’ll match you with the service provider that catches your vision. Whether you’re looking for a corporate event organizer for your business, a microwedding planner, or a birthday or anniversary party planner in DC or beyond, we will make an event that is an unmistakable reflection of you or the business you represent.

Our bedrock commitment to diversity will shine through in the way we honor your guests. From the way they are addressed on the guest list, invitations, or name tags to the way the catering company accommodates unique eating preferences and dietary restrictions, we take the greatest of care. Is the music appropriate for attendees? The beverage selection? The theme of the evening? We’ll make sure that every element of your event makes people feel welcome and included.

If you have guests who may not be able to attend in person, we also specialize in hybrid event production. This allows people to engage in the event, even if they can’t get there in person due to health concerns, childcare concerns, or simply because they live in another city or halfway across the world.

What Does it Mean to be a Black Owned Event Planner?

Being a black-owned business means that we are proud of and committed to our roots, our heritage, and to honoring those who have come before us. It also means that we believe in giving back to the local community and to other black-owned and multi-cultural businesses and that we support other underserved, underrepresented, and often unseen communities as well. This is why we are proud supporters of LGBTQ+ weddings, events, and parties, too.
